The Melksham Makers’ Market is a volunteer led, community market run by local lasses Sarah Hillman and Nicola Coleman.  The market is hosted by Melksham Town Council who support us in the set-up of the market and all the paperwork that goes with it!

Our market takes place on the last Saturday of the month from April – September (not August) and our Christmas market is held at the end of November.

crochet kit: fabulous fingerless gloves

Prior to 2019, we both used to sell at a lot of local craft markets and got chatting about how amazing it would be to have a craft market in Melksham. We have an awesome market place in the centre of town which is visible to loads of passing traffic, including all the visitors to the newly opened Melksham Campus, but there was nothing taking place which specialised in crafts and handmade gifts so we got our thinking caps on.  A few meetings later with Melksham Town Council and we were good to go!

The market is an outdoor market, which takes place in the Melksham Market Place on the last Saturday of every month (April – September, excluding August) from 9am – 2pm, and can accommodate approximately 25 stall holders.  We have two large gazebos (which fit 4 traders in each) and two smaller gazebos (which can fit 2 traders in each), both of which can be borrowed for those traders who don’t have their own gazebos.  The cost is £15 a pitch; if you share a pitch you share the cost!

We also have a Christmas market which takes place in November, INSIDE the Melksham Assembly Hall.  We can accommodate up to 30 stalls for our Christmas market.
